Mildred I.”Millie” Nelson, 80, of Lafayette died Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Heritage Health Care in West Lafayette. She was born May 6, 1934, in Earl Park to the late John Luther and Mossie Wolf Collins. Mildred married Robert F. Thomas and he preceded her in death in 1967. She later married Paul E. Nelson and he preceded her in death. Mildred owned and operated the Boutique Beauty Salon in West Lafayette for many years. She also worked for ICS Investments and as a real estate agent and manufacturing and retail jewelery sales all in Lafayette. Mildred loved traveling, especialy traveling to Hawaii and Florida. She enjoyed shopping, home projects, gardening and family time. Surviving are her sons John F. Thomas (Susan) of Battle Ground, Sam F. Thomas (Doraldina) of Lafayette, grandchildren Austin and Nicole Thomas and Maria Norris. Also surviving is her brother Claude Collins of Royal Center, sisters Dorothy Merril of Lafayette, Ruth Provo of Wolcott, Inez Taylor of Indianapolis and Martha Stephoniak of AZ.
