Michael H. Griffith, 64, of Lafayette, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at St. Elizabeth East. He was born May 6, 1948, in Southbend, to the late James and Vivian Miller Griffith.
He was a graduate from Jasonville and was in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the 40/8 Voiture. On April 11, 1987, he married Tammy J. Dunkel and she survives. Michael worked for City Bus for the past 13 years. Michael enjoyed fishing, collecting knives, cooking, flea markets, festivals and time with family and friends.
Surviving are, his wife, Tammy J. Griffith, of Lafayette; two sisters, Elaine (husband: Don) Wile, of Linton and Connie Griffith (husband: Michael Schafer), of Madison; a brother, James M. (wife: Barbara) Griffith, Linton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Toni Griffith; his baby brother, Martin Griffith.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel; the Rev. Joseph Park Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Romney.
