Melissa Anne (Lane) Weigh, 51, of Rineyville, KY, awoke in the presence of Jesus on Friday, October 23, 2026, according to the perfect will of God.

She was born on December 13, 1974, in Lafayette, IN, to Howard Sherlock and the late Carol (Whitlock) Lane.

Melissa attended Jefferson High School and Saint Joseph College where she studied nursing.

On April 28, 1998, she married Daniel Weigh in Lafayette, IN.

From her early days as a candy striper at St. Elizabeth, she dedicated her life to helping others. She spent over a decade as a compassionate CNA while also studying for her RN degree at St. Joseph’s College. Ultimately, she chose to shift her focus, dedicating her boundless love and energy to her ultimate joy: raising her children. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, thrifting, and visiting the Great Smoky Mountains area, especially Cherokee, NC.

Melissa was preceded in death by her mother, three brothers, David L. Lane Jr., Bradley E. Lane, and Christopher Sherlock; and an aunt, Eloise Whitlock.

Surviving is her husband, Daniel Weigh; her children, Justin Lane of Otterbein, IN; Joshua Lane of Rineyville, KY; Emily Lane of Radcliff, KY; Kylie (companion Joseph Willbanks) Weigh, Samantha Weigh, Jacob Weigh, and Cecil Joel Weigh, all of Rineyville, KY. Also surviving are a sister, Kira Sherlock of West Lafayette, IN; four grandchildren, Aubrie Mae Lane, Landen Adams, Salem Rose Lane and Allistair Leedom; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN 47909. Interment will follow in the Garden of Resurrection at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette, IN.
