Maureen Elizabeth Hubrich, 64, of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away on August 20, 2026.
Born in 1962, Maureen was born, raised, and lived her life in Lafayette. She built a life centered around her family, her home, and the people and animals she loved.
Maureen shared her life with her husband and best friend, Kasper Hubrich. Married for 43 years, they built not only a home, but a place that reflected the life they wanted to share. When they moved onto their farmland, there was no pond or forest. Together, they built it up from the ground, creating their own personal forest, a pond, and a pollinator field. It became a place where Maureen could enjoy the simple things she loved most—taking long walks, gardening, spending time outdoors, working on puzzles, cross-stitching, tending to her plants, and watching the life they had created around them flourish.
Maureen had a successful career spanning more than 34 years as a restaurant manager and accountant for McKenzie Foods and McKenzie Collections. She was hardworking and dedicated, carrying that same strong work ethic into every part of her life.
But her greatest accomplishment was her family. Maureen was the best mother her children could have asked for. She made sure Kristen and Vincent had everything they needed and gave them love and guidance throughout their lives. She instilled in them a strong sense of pride, a lasting work ethic, and, above all, a deep love for family. The lessons she taught her children will continue to live through them and the family they carry forward.
Maureen was especially devoted to her grandchildren, Marcella, Jonathan, Isabella, and Liliana. She treasured spending time with them and watching them grow. Her grandchildren brought her immense joy and were a very special part of her life.
She also had a deep love for her four-legged babies, who held a special place in her heart.
Maureen was a private person who valued the people closest to her. She did not need a large circle; she loved deeply and wholeheartedly those she allowed into her life. Her kindness, strength, loyalty, and devotion to her family will be remembered by all who knew her.
Maureen is survived by her husband, Kasper Hubrich; her daughter, Kristen, and her husband, Luis, and their children, Jonathan and Liliana; her son, Vincent, and his wife, Margaret, and their children, Marcella and Isabella; and her siblings, Emory Lencke and his wife, Sandi(d); Samuel Lencke and his wife, Bobbi; John Sebrey; and Kit Schafer and her husband, Steve.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Whayne and Elizabeth Sebrey, and her siblings, James Lencke, Michael Sebrey, and Anne Butzlaff.
Maureen will be deeply missed, but the life she built and the love she gave will continue through her family. Her memory will live on in her children and grandchildren, in the lessons she taught them, and in the land she and Kasper lovingly transformed into a place filled with trees, water, flowers, butterflies, wildlife, and life.
