Mary L. Haley Delaney, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday Jan. 23rd while returning on vacation in Knoxville, Tenn. Mary was born on March 30th, 1937, to the late Frank and Lena Haley in Lafayette. She was a life long resident of Lafayette. She attended grade school at St. Boniface and St. Francis High School. She was a retired employee of TRW where she worked for 27 years. She belonged to the American Legion Post 11 Auxiliary and Edwood Glen where she was an avid golfer. She also loved to read and crochet many stunning items for loved ones and friends. Surviving are her husband, Joseph Delaney; son, Todd (Suzanne) Gipson, of Jeffersonville; a daughter, Lori (Brad) Parks, of Chesterfield, Mo.; a stepson, Joseph (Amanda) Delaney IV, of Queens Creek, Ariz.; two brothers Jack Haley, of Bloomington and Pat (Sue) Haley, of Brookfield, Wis.; three sisters, Margaret Rardon, of Lafayette, Barb (Fred) Harless, of Lafayette, and Judy (Jerry) Bruno, of Wycoff, N.J.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Car Gipson; son, Tim Gipson; brother, Francis Haley; and a sister, Gertrude Schmidt. Visitation will be held at Soller-Baker Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday Jan 27th at 400 Twyckenham Blvd. A memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers family requests donations to Mathew's 25 or charity of donors choice.
