Mary E. MacLauchlan

April 19, 1943 - November 17, 2023

Mary E. MacLauchlan, 80, of Lafayette died Friday, November 17, 2023, at her residence.  She was born April 19, 1943, in Sewickly, PA, to the late J. Russell and Lillian (Ziegler) Manor.  Mary graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1961.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald J. MacLauchlan Jr., her sister Ann R. Davis, and granddaughter Devin M Merrell.

Mary enjoyed riding horses, fox hunting and working with the hounds.  She was an avid reader, and truly enjoyed her time with the “Lunch Bunch”.  She was most proud of her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Surviving are her children Douglas L. (Larine) MacLauchlan of Flora, Phyllis A. (Joe) Merrell of Lafayette, Donald J. (Rhonda) MacLauchlan III of Zionsville, grandchildren Andrew Merrell, Erin (Nicholas) Harrison, Grace Merrell, Kyle MacLauchlan, Audrey MacLauchlan Kian MacLauchlan, Edward (Angie) Jonson, and Karen (Ryan) Oerter.  Also surviving are five great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.  No service is planned at this time.  Memorial contributions may be made to your local animal shelter in Mary’s memory.

My thoughts and wishes are with Nornie’s family. Nornie was a wonderful gal and my good friend since jr high school. Our lives took very different paths but we never lost the bond that cemented the friendship that began 67 years ago. Always fun, thoughtful and generous…and a gracious hostess when I came to visit. I will miss her dearly.
