Mary Agnes Peyton went into the arms of her Lord and Savior Saturday, August 20, 2022. Born August 27, 1947 to the late Stella Margaret (Shoup) Anglin and Iley Peyton.
Mary graduated from Lauramie High School in 1965 and from Purdue University in 1969 with a degree in
Retail Management. She was very active in 4-H and attended Clarks Hill Christian Church.
Mary worked in retail most of her life, ending her career at HSN in St. Petersburg, FL, as an assistant buyer in cosmetics. Along with her parents, she was proceeded in death by her sister Ruth Ann Cadle, brother-in-law Jim Cadle and stepfather Ralph Anglin. She is survived by her nephew Jay Cadle (Karen), great niece Marina Cadle and Long-time best friend Claudia Shoaf (Ray).
Mary was affectionately known as Mother Ocean (Mother O) by her beloved “Tiki people” in Treasure Island, Florida, where she would gather with friends from all over the world to share stories, hugs, countless hours of laughter and watch the sunset on the ocean. Her beautiful smile and joyful demeaner will be missed by many. A celebration of life will be held at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 3305 Longlois Dr. Lafayette, IN on Wednesday August 24, 2022 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. A beach gathering in Treasure Island, FL will be held later this year. The family would like to thank all the caretakers at Mulberry Health for their kind and compassionate attention to Aunt Mary’s needs.
