Mary Agnes Korpita, 84, of Lafayette, died at 7:09 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Home Hospital.
She was born March 7, 1925, in Gary and graduated from Froeble High School there.
Mrs. Korpita enjoyed volunteering, sewing and baking, especially wedding and birthday cakes, and participated in numerous contests.
She was active with Tippecanoe County Area-Four Council On Aging.
Surviving are two sons, Paul Korpita of Lafayette and Lawrence Korpita (wife: Beverly) of Wausau, Wis.; and a daughter, Debra Alexander (husband: James) of Valparaiso.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Kacey, Julie, Cheryl, Brian, Jody, Richard and Kristie; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Tyler, Claudia, Eli., Carly, Trevor, Madisyn and Paige. Preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers.
Visitation for family and close friends will be 1-3 p.m. with funeral service at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Fr.
