Mary A. Taylor, 79, of Lafayette, died at 11:50 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at St. Elizabeth East.
Born April 8, 1931, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of the late Porter and Minnie Mittman Brand. She graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School.
On Sept. 9, 1950, she married Harold G. Taylor in Lafayette, and he survives.
Mrs. Taylor worked at Indiana Gas in the business office for over 30 years, retiring in 1990.
She enjoyed crocheting, knitting Christmas socks, cooking and spending time with her family, grandchildren and dogs.
Surviving with her husband is a son, Scott A. Taylor (wife: Tami) of Lafayette.
Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Payton and Porter Taylor. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Taylor; 3 brothers and 6 sisters.
Visitation 2 hours prior to a 3 p.m. service on Thursday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Interment at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Those wishing may contribute to the Almost Home Humane Society or American Cancer Society.
