Marjorie Schwartz

Marjorie Hainje Schwartz, 90 years young, of Marco Island, Florida passed away on the afternoon of April 14, 2026 at her home on Marco Island, Florida. Born September 20, 1935, in Lafayette, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Alberta Hainje.

Marge graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1953.

On May 27, 1955 she married Robert Schwartz at Lafayette Christian Church and was married 45 wonderful years. Marge and Bob had 3 children. She was a homemaker while supporting Bob first in the construction business in Lafayette until they bought a Wendy’s franchise starting in Lafayette in 1975. With her support they built a wonderful business until Bob passed away in 2001 and their boys continue to operate Wendy’s.

She was very supportive of her children and grandchildren. After Bobs death she went on to build a life of friends on Marco Island where she met and married Edwin Sinclair II, he survives.

Marge in her later years liked to visit the casinos, she loved her slot machines. She was the queen of shopping and always looked classy.

Marge is survived by her children, Elaine (Bob) Lahrman, Doug (Sonia) Schwartz and Jeff (Lisa) Schwartz, all of Lafayette.

Marge (Mee-Mee) has 7 grandchildren, Bethany (Noel) Raney, Scott (Sarah) Lahrman, Kristen (Tim) Rooze, Nick (Amy) Schwartz, Matt (Kristen) Schwartz, Megan (Dan) Strang and Kayla (Drew) Burgess and 13 great grandchildren who loved her dearly and who she cherished. She is also survived by her brother, Bob Hainje and sister, Betsy Bogan

Marge had many friends on Marco and enjoyed playing golf and boating with her late husband on Marco. She loved traveling on their boat to the Bahamas.

A celebration of life will be held at Soller Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with the service following. She will be placed next to her late husband at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette.
