Marjorie Isabelle Buckles Gamble, age 92, died on 3/24/14 at Rosewalk Commons in Lafayette, IN. She was born 3/28/21 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to parents Raymond Buckles and Nellie Randall. Grandchildren: Stephanie Horn Webster, Jason Horn, Annie Horn Fleming, Summer Gamble Harty, Ash Gamble, Elliott Gamble, Jordan Gamble Downham, Alexandra Gamble, Christian Gamble, Great Grandchildren: Hannah Webster, Emma Webster, Madeline Webster, Grace Fleming, Andrianna Gamble, and Abram Gamble. Great great grandchild: Kase Webster, 3 step grandchildren : Rex, Gus, and Kitty Ralph. Marjorie had 3 brothers: Lewis, Don, and Bill Buckles (all deceased) and 5 sisters: Maxine Buckles Rosen, Harriet Buckles Synasael, Phyllis Buckles Miller, Shirley Buckles Stover (all deceased) she is survived by one sister Betty Buckles Wise. She grew up in West Point, Indiana and graduated from West Point High School. She was a member of Jackson Heights United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School classes for children, VBS classes. She also was a member of Jackson Heights United Methodist Women and served as secretary for several years. She was a member of Jackson Heights Home Demonstration Club. She was 4-H leader and helped many young members with clothing projects. Later after her family was grown she worked at Neuwelts Fabric Center in Lafayette, IN. Before she was married and a short while after she was a licensed beautician. Her talent in the field led to many haircuts and home perms for family and friends after she was no longer working. Her hobbies: sewing, vegetable and flower gardening, and working in the yard. She also read books and articles on leading a healthy lifestyle. The family requests instead of flowers donations can be made to Jackson Heights United Methodist Church, West Point, IN. or Tippecanoe County 4-H Extension Office in Lafayette. Visitation will be Friday 3/28/2014 from 5 PM-8 PM at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. A funeral service will be at 10 AM Saturday 3/29/2014 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel with Chaplain Tom Covington officiating. Burial will follow at West Point Cemetery.
