Marie E. Butler, 86, formally of Lafayette, IN and Bradenton, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, FL.

She was born October 15, 1934, in Fowler, IN, to the late George and Mary (Francis) Glotzbach. Marie was a graduate of Fowler High School. She married Jerald D. “Jerry” Butler on October 23, 1954, in Fowler.  He preceded her in death on February 17, 1988.  Marie worked as a Supervisor of Operator Services for GTE for 40 years.

She was a member of  St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lafayette and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradenton, FL.

Marie enjoyed being with her family, which includes her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Joe, Leo, and Don and also enjoys spending time with her sister-in-laws Teresa, Joann and Shirley and their families.

Marie was a very loving mother to 5 children, Diane E. (Doug) Graham of Bradenton, FL, Terry D. (Cheryl) Butler of Portage, IN, Patrick H. Butler of Lafayette, Todd E. Butler of North Port, FL, and daughter, Michelle A. (Denny) Meyer of West Point.   She has 9 grandkids and 15 great grandkids.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Soller- Baker Funeral Home, Lafayette Chapel,  400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am, Friday, August 6, 2021, at St Ann Catholic Church, 612 Wabash Ave., Lafayette with Father Tony Roland officiating.  Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Fowler.

Memorial contributions in Marie’s name may be given to Tidewell Hospice.
