Marie B. Allen, 84, of Lafayette died Monday, May 2, 2016 at St. Elizabeth East. She was born September 27, 1931, in McKeesport, PA, to the late John and Marie (Hooge) Baker. Marie graduated in 1949 from Divine Redeemer Academy in PA. She worked at the Tippecanoe County Courthouse as a Deputy Clerk for over 30 years. Marie had formerly worked for lawyers Mark Thompson and his son Warren. After retirement she took an interest in watching NASCAR. Her favorite drivers were Jimmy Johnson, Kyle Busch and Tony Stewart. Marie also enjoyed listening to her music, working puzzles and word searches. Surviving are her children Catherine M. Allen, Daniel J. Allen of Lafayette and Karen A. Allen of Lafayette. Also surviving are her grandchildren Christopher Allen (Alicia), Scott Bray, Robert Allen; great grandsons Zechariah and Gabriel Allen. Marie was preceded in death by her twin sister June Davis, a brother John Baker and her Cocker Spaniel Maggie. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to a 2:00 PM service on Friday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Interment will be at Spring Vale Cemetery.
