Margaret M. Campbell passed away Nov 1. 2023 at Westminster Village breathing her last breath to “Amazing Grace” with her beloved Family at her bedside.
She was born in Scotland on the Isle of Bute, October 2, 1932, to the late Alexander and Mary King. Margaret attended Jordan Hill College in Glasgow, Scotland from 1950-1953 majoring in education. She began her teaching career in Sandbank, Scotland, a small coastal village on Holy Loch. Margaret married Alasdair Campbell in 1955 and the couple immigrated to California for better employment opportunities. Margaret stopped teaching to raise her family, but when Alasdair passed in 1963 shortly after their immigration, she returned to teaching to support their three young children.
Margaret earned a Master of Education degree from the newly formed California State University, Long Beach. She went on to a 40-year teaching career with the Los Angeles Unified School District, ranging from kindergarten to adult education. Her favorite subject was reading, but she also delighted in teaching adults English through the Harbor Community Adult School.
She is survived by her children; Gregor Campbell (Tamara Campbell), Sheilagh Boudia (James Boudia), Shona Campbell. Grandchildren; Ryan Campbell (Vivian Campbell), Colin Campbell (Katie Campbell) , Chelsea Campbell, Catherine Killeen (Patrick Killeen). Shaila Hass (Zachary Hass), Shauna Wilburn (Matthew Wilburn), David Boudia (Sonnie Boudia), Sheena Campbell, Kerra Campbell. Great Grandchildren; Olivia Grace Campbell 7, Ruby Alexandra Campbell 3, Nathaniel Campbell Page 2, Thomas Joseph Campbell 1, Alasdair Patrick Kileen 11mo, and Charlotte Mallory Campbell 1mo, Dakoda Grace Boudia 9, Gwen Rose Wilburn 7, Grace Ann Hass 6, Mila Primm Boudia 6, Judson Mathew Wilburn 5, Sophie Mae Hass 5, Knox Alasdair Boudia 4, Calvin James Wilburn 3, Henry William James Hass 2, Parker Rae Boudia 21mo.
A private viewing and service will be held at Soller-Baker Funeral Home on November 11, 2023.
