I had the pleasure of having your father/grandfather as a professor while I was at Purdue. He always had twinkle in his eye, like he enjoyed what he was teaching, but knew there was so much more to life than distillation processes (!!). I also ran into him after graduation when he was performing as a magician for something my own children were attending. Maybe he remembered me from his class at Purdue...I&d be surprised if he did, but he was so excited to see a former student and anxious to find out where my career had taken me.

My parents live at Westminster now, and saw Lyle from time to time. Thankfully, my father sent the obituary so I was aware of his passing. Please know that your father touched so many in my ChE class in a postive way, and I&m sure we were not unique. He was a very special person.

My heart goes out to you in your loss.

Dear Diane,

I was so sorry to hear of your father&s passing. I know it has been a long time but I think of you often, and have some wonderful memories from when you were still living in West Lafayette. I have wondered where you were and what you were doing and I and didn&t realize you were still in MO. I really would like to attend the memorial and see you but I have another commitment on Sunday. When you have a chance I would love to hear from you, either by phone, 765-409-4987 or email. I will be praying for you and your family at this difficult time. Take care...
