Lyda was a very nice person and a dedicated volunteer. I worked on staff with her at the Tippecanoe County Historical Association from 1972 to 1988. I remember the day when she took me and the association&s director out into the ""hinterland"" north of Lafayette where she showed us the remains of a long-ago ""way station"" that travelers used. She knew so much about local history and was so helpful to anyone who had genealogy questions. She will be missed!

I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Lyda. I have lost touch with her over the years. I always enjoyed my time at the farm. I especially remember the winter days when Wayne and I would sled down the hill below the well. The water run off would freeze and we would spend a lot of time sledding down into the valley below.

I hope you all are doing well. I will say a prayer.

Your loving nephew, Mike Minton.

I worked with Lyda in 1975-76 at the Tippecanoe County Historical Association. She was always kind, always smiling and always dedicated to her work in genealogy. She lived a good, long life and helped many people research their families. Though the community will miss her, she has left a wonderful legacy.
