Louise Darling, 67, of Lafayette passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at St. Elizabeth East. She was born April 12, 1948, in Gulfport, MS, to the late Leo and Vallie Rice Spikes. On June 9, 1973 she married James W. Darling in West Lafayette and he preceded her in death in October, 1998. Surviving are her children Donald J. Phelps, Wesley J. Darling, Susan L. Julian (Keith) all of Lafayette, 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, stepsons Jim Darling (Tina) of Lafayette and Dan Darling (Lori) of Pine Village. Also surviving is her step sister Catherine Peacock, and a step brother Leo H. Spikes both of Lafayette. Louise was preceded in death by her brothers Frank and Tom Spikes and step mother Helen Spikes. A private service will be held. Those wishing may contribute to the Salvation Army in Louise’s memory.
