Lisa C. (Grenat) Vandeventer, 65, of Lafayette, passed away after a heroic long-fought battle with COPD on January 22, 2026 surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 7, 1960 to the late Ivan C. and A. Jeanne (Mehegan) Grenat.
She was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School and employed at Purdue University for the past 18 years.
Lisa loved being outside in the summer planting flowers. She enjoyed music, playing Bingo, Karaoke, drinking Diet Coke, her Purdue Peeps and an occasional trip to the casino with her sister-in-law, Paula.
Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren and spending time with them. Her favorite day of the year was Christmas.
Lisa married Norman D. Vandeventer and they later divorced but continued to remain friends over the years.
She is survived by her children, Bridget Grenat Fullerton of Frankfort, Nicholas (Stacey) Grenat of Otterbein and Jeremy (Jennifer) Vandeventer of West Lafayette. Two sisters, Judy (Larry) Vanderweilen and Diane (Earl “Bob”) Slaughterbeck, both of Lafayette. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jake Fullerton, Zach Vandeventer and Rhylie Vandeventer, all of the Lafayette area as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lisa is preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Jeanne Grenat, a daughter, Angelec, granddaughters, Haleigh and Callie Fullerton, brothers, Terry Grenat, Bill Grenat and John Grenat and brother in laws, Larry Vanderweilen and Earl “Bob Slaughterbeck and Neal (Bo) Vandeventer.
Honoring Lisa’s wishes a private celebration of her life will be held by the family at a later date with burial at St. Boniface Cemetery
