Once again I want to convey my heart felt feelings to both Shelly and Darren and families. I was the treas. at CHS for 20 years and your mother and I shared some wonderful talks and times. She always had a smile on her face and had time to spend w/others. We both had some of the same joys and heartaches. I know how much her family meant to her and you did come first in her life. My granddaughter came to Carroll as a 9th grader, she had your mother for ad. math and Shelbi did very well in her class. She was a great teacher, now she pushed hard sometimes, but most of her student are up for the challenge. I so wish she would have had more time to do all those things she was so looking forward to, but we don&t know the days we have left or what lies ahead, everyday is a gift. Be kind to yourselves and take time to lean on others when you need to. Blessings to one and all.

Mrs. Harrold was my math teacher last year.
I am a wrestler, and our sectional is Sat. at Lafayette Jeff, so I am unable to attend the service for her.
My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. She was a nice lady who cared about her students, and a great math teacher.
Sincerely,

We want to let you know how sorry we are and our love and prayers go out to you.
We had kept in contact with your mom since she was at the Colfax United Methodist Church and you kids were united with the family. She was so proud of her family. Your mom also taught math at Clinton Prairie with Don. Shelly our son Eric used to call you Ethel, you came at the time of the Streak song being so popular and he took a liking to a cute little girl. He still teases the little kids at the church.
Blessing to all,
Marilyn

Shelley & Darin,

Our family is so sorry for your loss. You are all in our prayers. I&m so glad that I was blessed to know your mom. Her faith lives on in her family. I felt a special connection with her being an adoptive mom also. I know it was different times & circumstances but adoption just has that connection. I can&t help but remeber hanging out at Shelley&s house for various birthday parties and being with your mom. I loved to talk to her. She was very easy to talk to and took the time to listen to what you had to say. She did a great job raising two wonderful kids. You could always know that her family was so very important to her. Her passion for teaching was priceless. I really enjoyed talking with her about her trip to Alaska. We will keep you lifted up in prayer and here when you need us.

I am very sorry for the loss of Linda. She was a great person and mentor for all students through her years teaching. I was one of her many Math students she had and I am very happy how hard she pushed me to be the best and do my best and results will show. She never let a student fail on learning. She took the time to help each student and how it will help them in the future. I will always remember the times I would stop in her classroom and I would ask how her grandchildern were and her face would always light up and you that she loved you all very much. Even after graduation, I would always come back to see her and see how her grandchildern were and how life was going. I loved that she always kept up with me and how things were going and for her to see that I have developed myself into a successful individual, All credit goes to her. You will forever be missed and never forgotten. I will see you again in the future.

Sincerely, Brandon Reef

Dear Shelley and Darin,
Almost 25 years have gone by since I taught with your mom at SBCA. She was a true Christian, full of Christ&s mercy and grace. Those were difficult times for her and I was inspired by the way she trusted the Lord. I visited her in West Lafayette once and was glad to find her settled in a good neighborhood and enjoying her new teaching position. She had the gift of hospitality as she invited Jenny to your house in South Bend many times. Her last Christmas letter reflected her continuing walk of faith and trust in our Lord. I will miss her but look forward to our reunion in heaven.
God bless you and your families as you carry on in faith.
Love, Jan Jagerman

Dear Shelley, Darin and families,
My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. I can never find the right words to say beyond ""I&m so sorry."" And, that doesn&t begin to cover your loss, the richness of Linda&s life, memories you have and the void that will never quite fill.

She was a wonderful collegue, not just as the teacher next door (as she was for several years), but also because she was such a proud mom. I didn&t really appreciate that until I became a mom.

Sincerely,
Wyndham Traxler Carter

I am so sorry to hear of your mother&s death. I have known her for a number of years and really enjoyed our conversations about her kids and grandchildren. I know that she truely loved her grandkids was looking forward to retirement and spending more time with them. She was an excellent teacher and my own children often would tell me how much they enjoyed her class. She did affect many students from Carroll which is maybe why we have the second highest math scores in the state. I know that I cannot express in words how difficult of time this must be for you. I just want you to know that the teachers at Carroll will miss your mom. We will keep you in our prayers and may God bless each of you.
