Lillie graduated from Wendell Phillips High School in Chicago and worked as a Housekeeper for several hotels before retiring. Lillie was an active member of Progressive Baptist Church in Chicago where she served and volunteered on several committees and enjoyed serving her community.

Surviving are two daughters, Francine Johnson of Chicago, and Idella (Fiancée Randy Harris) Johnson of Lafayette; two grandsons, Devin A. Bickham, Jr., and Desmond H. Rias; two nieces Kimberly Johnson and Angela Johnson of Chicago and one nephew Jesse Johnson Jr. of Chicago. Lillie was preceded in death by twelve siblings.

A private family service will be held, Wednesday, May 20 at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette, IN. Burial will follow at Meadowview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Lillie’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Dear mrs. Johnson words cannot explain how I feel, my heart is truly broken but I know God is has truly gained an angel. I remember one of my greatest Memories of you was how you protected the community. I was playing basketball right in front of your house and a Gentleman begin to bully me and as you seen this guy bully me you yelled at him I said leave him alone take your hands off him and then you told me to carry myself on home. Once I got home, you let my mom know what had happened, and that you were there and that you had protected me and I was okay from that day on you was like a mother to me and I thank God for you. I wish that they were more women in the world like you you are one out of a million one of the most beautiful people I ever met I love you.
