Lewis Lee Davis, 77, of Zionsville, Indiana, died at home on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. Lewis was born September 15, 1936, in Hartsville, Indiana, to the late Floyd Orrill Davis and Edna Mae Brown Davis. He graduated from West Point High School(class of 1954) in Tippecanoe County. Following graduation, Lew served in the United States Army from 1954 through 1957 and was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. Upon his discharge from the military, he attended Indiana University in Bloomington. Lew was managing partner at Heritage Land Company and was previously employed for 42 years at The Heritage Group in Indianapolis, as vice president of administration. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Zionsville and served many years on the board of the United Methodist Children's Home in Lebanon. Lew was married to Alta Marie Smith on June 7, 1959, and she survives. Also surviving are his daughters, D'Andrea Lee Davis Speer (Gregg), Danelle Marie Davis Butler (William) and Delaine Mar-Lee Davis, and four grandchildren, Maclane Davis Speer, Kensington Marie Speer, Laine Elizabeth Butler and Reece Marie Butler. He is also survived by two sisters, Harriott Davis Byers (Buford) and Merlyn Davis Borden (Marvin, deceased). Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, July 19, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, (400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette), followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Tippecanoe County.
