Leann K. Thornton, 56, of Lafayette, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016 at her home. Leann was born on January 3, 1960 in Connersville to the Marjorie A. (Foreman) Turner and the late Edwin L. Turner.
Leann was a 1979 graduate of Jefferson High School. She has worked in daycare for more than 30 years and touched the lives of numerous children. Leann had a heart of gold with a love for all her children, grandkids, daycare kids and many foster kids through the years. Leann loved gardening, cooking for her family and shopping. In the summer months she could be found at the baseball fields watching her grandkids playing ball. On May 24, 1998, Leann married Bill Thornton in Lafayette and he survives.
Surviving along with her husband are her sons: Ryan (Sarah) Ford, Travis (Ashlyn Lukas) Ford, Ian and Malichi Thornton, Bobby Pruitt, Tony Coyner and her daughters: Karli, Kelli and Sophia Thornton, Jennifer Clingerman, Candy Blye. Also surviving are her siblings: Bret (Beth) Turner, Bob (Emma) Turner, Pam (Stuart) Michael, 17 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.
Celebration of her life will be on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Brady Lane Church, 2701 Brady Lane. Calling will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with services following immediately after by Pastor Jeff Keller. Interment will be at Concord Cemetery.
