Lavaun I. Wright, 100, of West Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Creasy Springs Health Campus surrounded by her family.

She was born June 6, 1922, in Frankfort, to the late Irvin and Allie Combs Michner. On October 12, 1941, she married Lorren P. Wright in Mulberry, and he passed away on March 29, 2010.

Lavaun enjoyed being in her yard working, reading, playing games with her family, she enjoyed the time she had with her family and all her grandchildren.

She is survived by her 3 children, Phillip I. Wright of West Lafayette, Janice “Jan” (Kenny) Jones, of Rossville, and Bev (Kevin) Armstrong, of Frankfort; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Lavaun will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Lavaun was preceded in death by her husband, Lorren Wright; 2 granddaughters; 4 sisters; and 1 brother.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm, Tuesday May 23, 2023, at Soller-Baker, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette, IN 47909 with Pastor Joe Bell officiating.

Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 1200 Sagamore Pkwy North, Lafayette, In 47904

We were so saddened to hear about Aunt Lavaun’s passing but what a wonderful long life she had. Growing up I remember our family get togethers were always such fun times. Lots of good food and lots of game playing!!?. Your house was always spotless and everything perfectly in place! Aunt Lavaun had the best shoe collection of anyone I’ve ever known. She always said she got great deals on them because her size was so small!? Our families have grown apart over the years and she was the last surviving Michner sibling but what a wonderful legacy she leaves! Our love goes out to all of you!!?
