Larry Randall Maroska came into this world on May 17, 1939. He went home to sit beside his Heavenly Father on May 9, 2016.
What a shame if you never had the opportunity to meet this wonderful man. He was devoted to his wife Shirley (Wagner) for 57 years. He leaves behind his mother Louella Maroska, daughter Betina Cochran (husband Jay), son Greg Maroska (wife Sally), grandson Landon Maroska (wife Faith), and granddaughter Alyssa Maroska, many adored nieces and nephews and family. His daughter Heidi Anne Maroska and his father, Albert R. Maroska preceded him in death. Larry loved his “toys”. In the 50’s it was racing cars, horses & archery came on the scene in the 60’s, the 70’s brought motorcycles, in the 80’s & 90’s it was classic cars, and the 2000’s saw him navigating a 4-wheeler on the trails. Larry retired with more than 30 years from Rea Magnet Wire in 2002. This hard working man provided lovingly for his family. He taught his son to hunt and fish, to be honest and caring, how to treat his wife and children. He taught his daughter how to do home repairs and live independently, how to choose a man that would love her. He gave his children and grandchildren the greatest gift. He led by example. He was a Christian man that loved and respected his wife, he taught his children to be hard working honorable citizens, he would have walked to the ends of the earth for his grandchildren. The loss his family feels is immeasurable but we know that he sits with our Lord and that knowledge will carry us through our grief.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Pastor Ross Terry will be officiating. A private family burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Romney at a later date.
