Larry Gene Swinford, 68, of Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 19, 2024 at his residence.

He was born December 29, 1955, in Lebanon, to Robert M. Swinford of Lafayette and the late Shirley (Ford) Swinford.

After graduating from Wainwright High School in 1974, Larry served and was honorably discharged from the Army.

He had worked as an electrician and carpenter in the construction industry for several years before retiring.

Larry was a member of the Navy Club and enjoyed fishing, camping, star gazing, mushroom hunting, playing golf, being outdoors and cooking.

Surviving with his father, Robert Swinford of Lafayette, are two sons, Jeremiah (wife Cristlyn) Swinford of Battle Ground and Tyler (wife Kelby) Swinford of West Lafayette, three sisters, Teresa Skipper of Noblesville, Carol (husband Dave) Fairbanks of WY and Sharon McGuire of MT and a brother, Steven Swinford of Lafayette. Also surviving are five grandchildren, JoJo, Greyson, Cohen, Aiden and Miles.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley M. Swinford.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN 47909.
