Kristine Ann Swank, 65, of Lafayette passed away at 4:04 pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born November 12, 1951 in Lafayette to the late Richard C. and Elizabeth A. (Moser) Force.
Kris graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1970. She retired in January of this year from Purdue University as an administrative assistant in Oncological Sciences at Discovery Park.
She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Secular Franciscan, Militia Immaculatae and Serra Club, Kris also volunteered at St. Elizabeth’s Chapel. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, walking, sewing, and taking care of people.
Surviving are two daughters, Amy VanHorn (spouse Gerry) of West Lafayette and Patricia “Patty” Swank (spouse Chris Handy) of Ellicott City, MD; two sisters, Kathleen Risa (spouse Kristen) of Pittsburgh, PA and Rose Loser (spouse David) of Lafayette; three brothers, Andy Force (spouse Jennifer) of Mishawaka, Dan Force (spouse Marie) of Portsmouth, RI, and Joe Force (spouse Crystal) of Jacksonville, FL. Also surviving are her four grandchildren, Ainsley and Nora VanHorn and Ryan and Adam Handy.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of the Funeral Mass at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, August 8 at St. Boniface Catholic Church at 318 N. 9th Street Lafayette, IN 47909 with Fr. Timothy Alkire officiating.
Those wishing may contribute in Kristine’s name to St. Boniface Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
