Jonas Ecke left a message on January 1, 2024:
Greetings from Accra, where I currently spent New Year's. Yesterday I went to a Pentecostal church service to usher in the New Year. We filled out prayer cards. Mine include the wish that Konstantin will be well protected, wherever he may be. I am not very religious, but perhaps it was my way of sending him off from a distance. Hopefully, this often-unforgiving world will find forgiveness for the way it treats such gentle souls as Konstantin, whom I met as a student during my time in Lafayette. He enjoyed socializing with students and others in Lafayette's coffee shops, often dressed in European attire. I frequently noticed his longing for home, given that he was a German citizen with an Austrian background. His gentle demeanor will be greatly missed in Lafayette and beyond. He treasured those moments in the coffee shop, enjoying playing music for those who were close to him. I wish he could have been with us longer and hope that he rests in peace.

Eternal Memory, my friend. O sages standing in God's holy fire As in the gold mosaic of a wall, Come from the holy fire, perne in a gyre, And be the singing-masters of my soul. Consume my heart away; sick with desire And fastened to a dying animal It knows not what it is; and gather me Into the artifice of eternity. -William Butler Yeats, Sailing to Byzantium

9 years of cello lessons, 12 years of holidays, parties, going to concerts, and daytrips. You were a great teacher, mentor, and family friend. I miss you so much. Listening to Bach and thinking of you. Rest in Peace
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
