Kimberly Lynn Bargfeldt, age 38 of Lafayette, died on June 3rd at 10:43am after a courageous battle with kidney failure and a transplant. Peace is found knowing that since she has trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior, she is now with the Lord in heaven and awaiting the future resurrection.
She was a graduate of Faith Christian School, Class of 2003. She then graduated from Purdue University with her Bachelor of Sociology in 2017. She was an avid Purdue fan and lover of all things Black and Gold. If she wasn’t cheering on Purdue, you could find her with her feet in the sand, soaking up the sun on the beach.
Kim’s favorite and most rewarding title was loving mother to Kerrigan Bargfeldt (age 9). She was the cherished daughter of James Bargfeldt (Laurie) and Lynn Cornell (Rex); sister of Kelly Pannebaker (Kyle), Ryan Bargfeldt (Monique), and Benjamin Bargfeldt; granddaughter of Harold “Bop Bop” and Beverly Keisling and the late Kenneth and Evelyn Bargfeldt. Another one of Kimberly’s biggest joys in life was being Aunt Kim to Lowyn, Ledger, Portlyn, and Sage. Her time here on earth was spent investing quality time into the lives of her family and of her many friends and coworkers.
Kimberly’s family has been blessed and comforted by the outpouring of love, prayer, and support they have received from friends and family. They grieve the loss of Kimberly’s earthly presence but rejoice knowing that they will one day be reunited for eternity.
To the family of Kimberly’s kidney donor: Thank you for giving Kim hope. She knew in the end God is the ultimate healer. While we now know that healing has taken place in Heaven with her Savior, that doesn’t minimize the fact that there was a person who chose to try to save someone else’s life. Kimberly’s family would like to encourage everyone to consider being an organ donor. She knew the significance of that decision. Her family only hopes that through her brave fight, others will see Kim’s desire that people waiting on organ donation desperately need one thing: hope.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, June 8th, 2023 from 5pm-8pm. There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, June 9th, 2023 at 11:00 am. They will both take place at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, Indiana.
