I met Ken years and years ago through my cousins who live in Indiana, and I came to regard him as another family member. He visited Virginia many times with my cousins over the years, and I'd usually see him when I visited Indiana. We last got together in 2021 when we invited him to join us for dinner at Roberts Americus Restaurant. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I was much saddened to receive news of Ken's passing. Although he was a good friend of my own brother for many years, I always considered him "my other brother." I have many good memories over the decades, including the visits to my mother's family's home place in Virginia. My siblings and our children still quote him on occasion. Sail among the stars, my brother; we will meet again. <3

I have had the pleasure of Ken's true friendship since meeting in 3rd grade at Crouch Elementary School. Growing up in the neighborhood with our close friends, we had rowdy games of basketball, jumped bicycles from home made ramps, and fought bottle rocket wars. We.got into mischief common to teenage boys, and Ken earned the nickname "The Sheik", based on our fascination with pro wrestling on TV. We added a few members to our band of brothers in high school and beyond, bonding over intense sessions of Foosball tournament play. Ken made several trips with my family to Virginia, where we hiked trails on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Although we saw less of each other as adults, whenever we met we caught up immediately. I will miss you, my brother!
