Katie Frances Alliston passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on April 30, 2026 at the age of 91.
Katie was born in Prentiss, Mississippi to the late Roderick and Ruby Mae Burrow. She attended Mississippi College with studies in English and Religious Education.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Charles Walter “Chuck” Alliston and four brothers. She is survived by her children Joyce (Mark) Mongin of Indianapolis and Karl Alliston of St. Charles, Illinois. Katie is also survived by her beloved grandson Luke Mongin and his fiancé Kassy.
Katie was a faithful member of Federated Church. She always prioritized time serving others through various church projects, roles at Klondike school, along with neighborhood and community needs. She took great pride in her home, garden and relationships with friends and neighbors – always exemplifying the grace of genuine southern hospitality.
Special appreciation to the individuals who supported Katie, allowing her to remain comfortably in her home, those include Renee Easterly and the staff of Southern Care Hospice.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Soller – Baker Funeral Home, 1184 Sagamore Parkway W. West Lafayette, Indiana 47906 with a memorial service immediately following at 11:00. A private family entombment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette.
