Karen Temple Michler of West Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015. She was born February 3, 1956, in Louisville, KY, to Mig Temple and the late William N. Temple Jr. On August 11, 1979, she married Charles Harris Michler, the love of her life. Karen earned her BA in Education from the University of Kentucky and taught elementary school for 23 years. Karen also worked at University Book Store in West Lafayette. She was a member of the Purdue Women's Club, where she served as President, and a volunteer for many community service organizations, including the Women's Shelter and the Crisis Center. Karen founded Health Hut, an outreach ministry of University Church, where she was a member. Surviving along with her husband and mother are two sisters, Ann McDaniel and her husband George of Houston, TX and Marie Macadam and her husband Steve of Atlanta, GA. Also surviving are beloved nieces and nephews, Mac and Kayli McDaniel and their daughters, Mae and Annie, Mary and Weston O'Black and their son, Walker, Will and Kari McDaniel, Ellen, Milly, Emma and Luke Macadam, Charlotte and Donald Brown-Zalewa and their son Dalton and Adam and Rosie Brown, and their daughter Ryder. Friends will be received from 12:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN 47909, with Dr. Will Miller officiating.
