Julia A. (Stockton) Coffey, 84, of Lafayette, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at IU Health Arnett Hospital.
She was born September 7, 1941, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Jesse and Doris (McMillan) Stockton.
Julia graduated from Southwestern High School with the class of ‘59.
She married Randolph W. Coffey on January 24, 1964, they were married 27 years.
Julia owned Julia’s Daycare for nearly 30 years before retiring.
She had attended First Christian Church, Brady Lane Church of Christ and lastly Harvest Chapel.
Julia was a good mom and grandmother. She adored her grandson and she loved spending time with her family.
She also enjoyed crafts, sewing, arranging flowers, her cats, traveling and getting dressed up with the Red Hat Society.
Julia was very active in her daughters lives and especially enjoyed being part of Girl Scouts when her daughters were involved at one point serving as a Day Camp Director.
Surviving is her daughter, Jessica (Michael) McClimans of Lafayette, IN, a brother, Scott Stockton of Michigan City and a grandson, Seth McClimans of Lafayette, IN.
Julia was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Lynn Coffey, and two brothers, Jesse Calvin Stockton and Ronald Stockton.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Harvest Chapel, 2028 South 22nd St. Lafayette, with Pastor Shawn Tague officiating.
