Judith (Judy) Leone (Williams) Stirm passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. She was born on December 21,1954 in Portage Wisconsin to the late Kenneth & Shirley (Schwanz) Williams. Judy graduated from Portage High School, class of 1972. Judy and Brian Stirm were married on July 11,1987 in Columbus, IN. Since then, they have lived in Delphi, IN in a home that they built from the ground up. Judy loved infants & young children and for several years ran small day care centers both in
Portage WI and Delphi IN. Judy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi. Judy loved to fly, she started flying at the age of 2 with her dad Ken in Portage, WI. While not a pilot she did a fine job of co-piloting with Brian and others in a wide variety of airplanes. Judy belonged to numerous aviation organizations including (EAA) Experimental Aircraft Association, Midwest Antique Airplane Club and the Antique Airplane Association. She was a charter member of the EAA chapter in Portage, WI & also a member of the EAA chapter in Lafayette, IN. Judy loved attending the EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh WI every year, never missing a year since it has been held at Oshkosh starting in 1970. One of the most important things to Judy was getting “their spot” to ensure that she & Brian would be with the many friends that they camped next to every year. Judy also had a lifelong interest in collecting & displaying holiday ornaments and was an original member of the Holiday Hang Ups. Judy had perfected the art of thrifting and enjoyed antiques and collectibles. She was an avid reader and loved to do puzzles.
Judy is survived by her husband Brian as well as her siblings Christine Okpomor of Fulshear, TX, Robert Williams of Portage, WI and Diane (Scott) Allshouse of Lakewood Ranch, FL., her cousin Laura (Dan) Hoffman, Portage, WI, along with numerous nieces, grand nieces, nephews & grand nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Graveside service will be at 11:00 am (Central Time) on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Oshkosh, WI. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Joseph Catholic Church for window to heaven guidance, Carroll County Heritage Transportation for an auto/truck safety exhibit, or Oracle Airmotive Research & Development for aviation safety/efficiency research in Judith’s memory.
