Judith A. Scheffee, 82, of Lafayette, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at St Mary’s Health Care.
She was born September 5, 1941, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Ira Ernest and Josephine Williams Stark.
Judith graduated from Dayton High School in 1959 and had taken classes at Purdue. After her graduation she started her own Hair Salon.
On , July 2, 1983 she married James E. Scheffee in Lafayette. They celebrated there 40th wedding anniversary this past July.
Judith worked as a Administrative Assistant at Purdue University Vet Science for over 25 years.
She was a Member of the Eagles Aerie #347 Auxiliary for over 35 years. A Past Madam President of the Eagles Auxiliary. She also was a State Grandmother of the State Eagles Auxiliary, Aerie Secretary Assistant for 27 years, and a member of Auxiliary #347 Ritual Team.
Judith enjoyed basket weaving, Interstate traveling with the Eagles and was navigator for James though all of their traveling for the Eagles. Judith was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Surviving are husband, James Earl Scheffee of Lafayette, son, Edwin (Joanna) Losey of AR, son, Thomas (Jodey) Losey, daughter, Melinda (Chris) Foulks, son, Jeffrey (Mercedes) Scheffee, daughter, Cynthia (Bill) Plummer, son, Brien (Teresa) Scheffee all Indiana, and brother-in-law, Paul Jones. She had 24 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Judith was preceded in death by parents, siblings, Viola Jones, Nancy Lumley, George Lumley her brother-in-law, and Kristen Scheffee a granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday February 23, 2024 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette. An FOE service at 7pm
Service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette. Pastor Jeff Scheffee officiating. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park Lafayette, IN.
