Joseph L. “Jody” Clark, 65, of Lafayette, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022, at his home. He was born May 7, 1956, in Lafayette to Mildred (Nydegger) Clark of Lafayette and the late William Joe Clark.
Jody was a 1974 graduate of Wainwright High School and on May 22, 1976, he married Kimberly Burton in Dayton and she survives.
Jody worked as a mechanic at Mike Raisor Pontiac for 20 years. He then went to work for Caterpillar in 1997 and retired in 2020. Jody enjoyed telling stories, drag racing, motorcycles, old cars especially his 1968 Z/28, hot rods and was known for telling it like he saw it. Surviving along with his wife is his son Bradley W. (Jenny) Clark of Lafayette, grandchildren Kylee and Connor Clark, Katelyn Merrill and great granddaughter A’veyah “Goathead” Merrill. Also surviving is his brother Richard A. Clark and mother-in-law Norma L. Burton all of Lafayette. Jody was preceded in death by his daughter Rebecca L. Clark.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service will be at 10:00 am on Monday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Jeff Stokes officiating. The family asks that you dress casually and drive your hot rods or motorcycles to the cemetery. Interment will be at Concord Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the IVY Tech Foundation for the Rebecca Clark Nursing Scholarship in Jody’s Memory.
