Joseph “Joe” L. Buntin passed away Saturday July 1st, 2023.

He was born in Frankfort Indiana to the late Lloyd L. Buntin and Roberta (Gilbert) Buntin. He graduated from Rossville High School.

On June 23rd, 1962, he married Sonija Kay Gilman she passed away July 18, 2018.

He joined the Lafayette Police Department in 1968 where he worked until he retired in 1988, he then went to work for Tippecanoe County Highway Department where he retired as the Superintendent in 2008.

Surviving are his children, Todd Buntin (Rita) of Lafayette, Stacey Reagan (Jerry) of Lafayette, Travis Buntin (Angie) of North Carolina.

Grandchildren Jesse Buntin (Kelly), Lorissa Buntin, Nikia Upchurch (Sean), Britni Bitner (Tyler), Danielle Daniels (Jeremy), Jacob Furnace, Van Reagan (Estella), Jeremey Reagan (Kara) and Fifteen Great-Grandchildren, sister Judy Pop (John) of Florida, brothers, James Buntin (BK) of Indiana, and Mike Buntin of Indiana.

Joe was proceeded in death by his wife Sonija, a sister Susie King, brothers Jack Buntin, Tom Buntin, and Bill Buntin.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 6th,2023 from 10:00am-12:00pm with service to follow at 12:00pm at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Interment with Police Honors at Meadow View Cemetery, Lafayette. You may sign the guest book and leave memories at www.soller-baker.com
