John W. Kensinger

John William “Jack” Kensinger, 79, of West Lafayette, died at 7:49 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Clarian Arnett Hospital.
Born Feb. 23, 1931, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late John K. and Vera Campbell Kensinger. He graduated from West Lafayette High School and Purdue University, and served in the Army from 1952 to 1956.
On July 3, 1954, he married Beverly Tinsman in Lafayette, and she survives.
Mr. Kensinger had worked in production control and as a purchasing agent for Rostone Corp. before retiring.
He was a member of Community Reformed Church and enjoyed classical music and woodworking.
Surviving with his wife are a son, David Kensinger (wife: Julie) of Battle Ground; and a daughter, Nancy Clarke (husband William) of St. Johns, Fla.
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Tim Clarke (wife: Hannah), Erin James (husband: Matt), Stephanie Graves (husband: Seth) and Andy Kensinger; and 2 great-grandchildren, Jimmy and Jason Garrard.
Visitation will be 2 hours prior to a 12 p.m. service Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, the Rev. Wesley Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Vale Cemetery. Those wishing may contribute to Community Reformed Church at 2501 S. 18th St., Lafayette, IN 47909; or Lafayette Citizens Band at P.O. Box 523, Lafayette, IN 47902.

Dear Bev,
My heart goes out to you and your family at this sad time. Jack was a pleasure to work with. Thinking of you.

I wish I could have been with your family today to share the memories and tributes to Jack&s life. Losing a husband, father, or grandfather from our lives is an over-
whelming experience, but brings us closer together by sharing memories of their goodness and our love for one another. My heart is there with all of you. May your healing tears bless you and bring you peace as you remember the blessings God so graciously provided by bringing Jack to your world.

Jack was in Nancy&s high school class at WLHS. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and know that he will be so missed by his family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers will be with all of you at this difficult time.

A HS classmate of Jack. We were in Cub and Boy Scouts together. Also served on Walter Wolever&s, our shop teachers, """"elite"""" group known as the technical equipment crew, we ran the projection and sound equipment for various classes and events. These thoughts come to mind at this time of his passing.
