John M. Roach, 62, of Lafayette, passed away at 1:30 am on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus.
He was born May 31, 1954, in Lafayette, to the late Adam and Mary (Brady) Roach.
John graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1972 and attended St. Joseph Collegeor three years prior to attending Don Scotus Franciscan Seminary for a year.
He was an HIV Case Manager and Education and Training Specialist with the Indiana Department of Health prior to joining Indiana Cares.
John was also the co-founder of Project AIDS-Lafayette, a winner of the George Award in 1988, and was the organist at St Boniface Catholic Church for many years as well as a member of the Secular Franciscans.
Surviving are two brothers, James Roach (Meg) of Riverdale, IL and Bill Roach (Peggy) of Carmel. Also surviving are a nephew, two nieces, three great nieces and three great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his life mate Michael Breese.
A gathering of friends and family will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Community Center at Lori Lee Estates. A private burial of John’s ashes will take place at St Boniface Cemetery.
