John F. Fader, 77, of West Lafayette died Sunday, August 16, 2015 at IU Arnett Hospital. He was born February 20, 1938, in Dayton, OH, to the late Stephen and Catherine Fader. John lived there until moving to West Lafayette in 1969. On July 7, 1956, he married Janet Sanderson in Brookville, IN and she survives. He worked in sales and management throughout his career, retiring in 2003. John was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge most recently in Battle Ground Lodge No. 313, F.&A.M. and was also a member of Indianapolis Valley Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, and Tippecanoe Shrine Club, Lafayette Breakfast Optimist Club, and one of the original members of the Purdue Community Relations Advisory Committee. He was also a founding member and charter president of the Tippecanoe Talkers Toastmasters Club. For years he was active in the Republican party of Tippecanoe County. John enjoyed lunching with a special group of guys, the “Fat Club” (Friday Afternoon Toasters) for many years. Surviving along with his wife are two sons, John Stephen “Steve” Fader (wife Roseyre) and Jeffrey S. Fader, granddaughter Christine M. Fader, all of Lafayette. John was preceded in death by a grandson John S. Fader II and a sister Mary Kovacs. Visitation will be 1:30 to 3:30 PM Saturday, August 22nd at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. A Masonic and memorial service will immediately follow. Those wishing may contribute to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Lyn Treece Boys and Girls Club of Tippecanoe County or charity of choice.
