John Christopher “Chris” Strantz, 72, of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at his residence.

He was born August 1, 1948, in Lafayette, to the late Raymond and Jean (Hamling) Strantz.

Chris graduated from Delphi High School in 1966 and Purdue University in 1974.

On December 6, 1980, he married Brenda Batts in Dayton and she survives.

Chris worked as a Customer Service Representative for Landis and Gyr.

He enjoyed playing golf, music and playing guitar.

Surviving along with his wife, Brenda Sue Strantz are children, Sean (Heather) Strantz of Lafayette, Sherri (Michael) Mayhill of Vandalia, OH and Jeff Strantz of Lafayette, two brothers, Ron Strantz of Fishers and Michael Strantz of Deer Creek, and a sister, Leann (Scott) Sellers of Logansport. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Christopher and Katie Mayhill and Adam and Carter Strantz as well as a great grandchild, Lennon Dosch.

Following state COVID restrictions, the wearing of mask, social distancing and capacity requirements will be followed.

A visitation open to the public will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Soller- Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette.

In lieu of flowers those wishing may donate in Chris’ name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
