Joel Michael Hawk, 26, of Lafayette, died at 7:32 AM Sunday, August 30, 2015 in West Lafayette. He was born November 3, 1988, in Charleston, SC, to Cary Hawk and Carol Hanthorn. On June 30, 2012 he married Brooklyn Terry in West Lafayette. Joel was a devoted father who enjoyed soccer, playing guitar, and skateboarding. Surviving are his wife, Brooklyn Hawk of Lafayette, and their two children, sons , Keatyn and Caswell both of Lafayette, father, Cary Hawk of Lafayette, mother, Carol Hanthorn of Linden, brother, Shaun Hawk of Lafayette, brother, Joseph Basco of Camp Lejeune, NC, brother, Zachary Hawk of Lafayette, grandfather, Kenneth Hawk of Battleground, grandmother, Cherry Andrews of Lafayette, grandmother, Hilda Wellman of Seattle, WA, and two nephews, Shaun Jr. and Forest Hawk. He was preceded in death by a maternal grandfather. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN 47909.
