Joan Lynn Inskeep, 80, of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 9, 1945, in Crawfordsville, IN, to the late William and Mary Lou (Kitsmiller) Clawson.
Joan graduated from Linden High School before pursuing her nursing education at St. Elizabeth School of Nursing.
She married Fred Inskeep on January 17, 1964, in Linden and he survives.
Joan dedicated her life to caring for others in her nursing career at Home Hospital and Sagamore Surgical Center.
Joan cherished simple pleasures including sewing, cooking, playing the piano and visiting friends. She also took great pleasure in taking leisurely drives along country roads and in feeding and watching the bluebirds that nested near her home. Her greatest joy however was her family. Spending time with her grandchildren, proudly watching them participate in sporting events and showing their cattle was always a priority.
Surviving along with her husband are her children Rebecca L. (Jay) Schnebly, Amy J. (Michael) Molter, Dale F. (Tracy) Inskeep all of Lafayette. She is survived by her grandchildren Kaitlynn Schnebly, Mark, Elley, and Mallory Inskeep, Zachary (Caroline) Molter, Nicholas (Gabriela) Molter and great grandchildren Alice and James Molter.
She is also survived by her sister, Linda Clark, Ellettsville, IN.
Joan was preceded in her death by her brothers, William and David.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the service at 11:30 am on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Scott Eaker officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Romney, IN.
Memorial contributions in Joan’s memory may be made to Riley Hospital for Children or Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.
