Jerry W. Jarrard, 71, of Lafayette, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at his home. He was born November 7, 1946, in Lafayette to the late Donald and Emma Rayburn Jarrard.
Jerry graduated from East Tipp High School in 1965. His marriage was to Debra Ulrich and she survives. Jerry was a Police Officer for the Lafayette Police Department for 32 years. After retiring from the the Police Department in 2002, he was Foreman at the City of Lafayette Fleet Maintenance Department for 10 years.
He was a member of the FOP, Lugs Car Club, Sons of the American Legion Post #11. Jerry enjoyed building hot rods, car shows, vacationing in Key West, FL and spending time with friends and family. Surviving with his wife are his children Debbie (Matt) Miller of Darlington, Chrissy (John) Hogg of Dayton, Jeremy Jarrard, Jameson (Amanda) Jarrard, Cydney (Drew) Blackford, step daughter Aimee (Kevin) McMillin all of Lafayette, step son, Chris (Katie) Ulrich of Pensacola, FL, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother Marvin (Jeanne) Jarrard of FL. Jerry was preceded in death by a grandson, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until the time of the service at 7:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd.
