Jerry J. Avery, 76, of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at his residence.
He was born September 13, 1949, in Lebanon, IN, to the late Ernest and Trela (Wilden) Avery.
Jerry graduated from Frankfort High Schol and attended Ball State University.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
On February 21, 2005, he married Charlotte Whicker in the Geetingsville Presbyterian Church and she survives.
Jerry worked as a rural carrier for United States Postal Service for several years before retiring.
He enjoyed fishing and restoring cars.
Surviving with his wife, Charlotte K. Avery of Dayton, is a daughter, Jerri (Eric) Kruep of Odessa, FL, a sister, Denise (Stephen) Jacobs of Sarasota, FL, and two grandchildren, Abigail Kruep and Ryon Kruep.
Jerry was preceded in death by a half-brother, Larry Avery.
