Jerry D. Grimes, 67
BATTLE GROUND ? Jerry D. Grimes, 67, of Battle Ground, died at 5:10 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Central.
Born July 1, 1942, in Jungle Park, he was the son of the late Herschel and Mary Webb Grimes. He graduated from Crawfordsville High School and served in the Air Force from 1963 to 1967.
On Oct. 10, 1992, he married Trudy V. Feighner Hartman in Lafayette, and she survives.
Mr. Grimes was a fireman for the Lafayette Fire Dept. for 33 years.
He attended Cross Roads Christian Church and was a member of American Legion Post 492 and Eagles Lodge 347.
Surviving with his wife are David Grimes (wife: Regina), Greg Grimes (companion: Angie Campbell), Jannette Thompson (husband: Duran), Michelle Graham, Nathan Hartman (wife: Heather) and Aaron Hartman, all of Lafayette; and three sisters, Betty McKendrie and June Creamer (husband: Bill), both of Lafayette, and Rita Grimes of West Lafayette.
Also surviving are 20 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010,Last Alarm at 7pm at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service 10 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Pastor Mike Feighner officiating.
