Jeffrey G. Bohan, 62, of Lafayette passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Franciscan Health, St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette.
He was born November 5, 1958 in Lafayette to the late Robert F. and Mary Annabelle (Gunter) Bohan. He was a graduate of Lafayette Central Catholic High School, where he participated in wrestling and held the record for “fastest pin” for several years. On February 21, 1998, Jeff married the love of his life and best friend, Jennifer L. Elliott at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lafayette and she survives. Jeff worked as a Production Supervisor at the Kirby Risk Service Center.
He was a devoted member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lafayette and was a former 4th degree Knight of Columbus. He was also a member of the St. Ann’s Men Club and was involved with the planning and organization of the annual “Fish Fry”. Football season was his favorite season and he enjoyed tailgating at Purdue Football games, watching the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, and especially Central Catholic High School where his son is the manager. He also enjoyed building and working with his hands. He would start out with a simple project and the finished product would be an elaborate beauty. One of his goals (as well as the goal of his siblings) was to beat his mother at cards. There were many nights they would sit playing cards and the competition could be heard down the block. Jeff never knew a stranger and always had a smile for everyone. However, above all things, Jeff cherished the time spent with his son, Jacob and his wife, Jennifer. He will be missed so much!
Along with his wife, he is survived by his son, Jacob Matthew; siblings, H. Denny (Rosemary) Bohan of Dowling, MI, Shannon (Mike) Silver of Lafayette, Coleen (Ray) Wilson of Lafayette, Robert (Marjorie) Bohan Jr. of Lafayette, Brent (Jenny) Bohan of Granger, Kyle (Lisa) Bohan of Las Vegas, NV, Amy (Don) Wentzel of Fishers, and Barbara (Steve) Ralston of AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents, Robert and Annabelle Bohan; his father-in-law, Melvin K. Elliott; and several aunts and uncles.
Memorial contributions in Jeffrey’s name may be given to “One in the Spirit Fund” to support the Lafayette Catholic Schools or to the American Diabetes Association.
