Jeanne L. McGrath of West Lafayette died Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late John and Elizabeth Handgartner Wintermentel. Jeanne L. McGrath of West Lafayette died Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late John and Elizabeth Handgartner Wintermentel. On April 15, 1950 she married J. Robert McGrath in Pittsburgh, PA and he survives. Jeanne worked as a visiting Nurse while living in Pittsburgh. She was a founding member of Church of the Blessed Sacrament where she was active in the Ladies of Charity of Blessed Sacrament. Jeanne was a volunteer with St. Elizabeth Auxilary for several years and received her 2000 hours award pin. She was also a member of Tri Kappa and numerous bridge clubs. Surviving along with her husband are her children John R. McGrath Jr., wife Lori, of Lexington, KY,Mark McGrath, wife Bridgette, of Marietta, GA, Cathy A. McGrath of Lexington, KY, Patti Greig, husband Dale, of Marietta, GA, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Julia O'Connor of Butler, PA and Eileen Fisher of Cape Coral, Fl. Jeanne was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Eileen McGrath and grandson Matthew McGrath. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to a 10:30 AM Mass on Monday at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, West Lafayette, Fr. David Buckles officiating. Those wishing may contribute to Central Catholic High School.
