Jayden Ty Richards, 22, of Frankfort, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025 due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was born on April 30, 2003, in Lafayette, and graduated from Carroll High School in 2021. In middle and high schools, he was a member of the high school band, playing French horn.

Ty was serving his service apprenticeship to be an automobile mechanic.

He was a member of Underrated Motors and 765 Motors car clubs, and enjoyed kayaking, boating, fishing, shooting, traveling, being outdoors, music, working on cars, especially his Colorado truck, and his cat, Sissy. Also, his late fur best friend dog, Bullett.

Surviving is his mother, Brooke Richards of Lafayette, father, Kevin (Amy Ellison) Richards of Lafayette, grandparents, Kenneth and Cindy Richards of Frankfort, and a sister, Joslyn Conrad of Lafayette. Aunts and uncles, Bryan Beeker, Matthew (Kasey Miller) Richards, Tony (Amanda) Richards, cousins Owen White, Connor and Charlotte Richards, as well as several great aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also, many close childhood best friends.

Ty was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerald and Janet Beeker.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette. His burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery in Lafayette.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ty’s name to a humane society of the donor’s choice.

Joslyn, grief comes in waves, but the memory of Ty will be kept alive with the laughter, silly adventures, and countless moments spent together. Ty's infectious smile and adventurous spirit will live on, always bringing you comfort. Especially those memories created recently, while camping, and at your softball tournament, those will forever be cherished, by you! Joslyn, even though Ty is no longer here, comfort is found in knowing that he lived every day doing what he loved and that he is watching over you now. You will see those messages from him that no one else will be able to explain! We Love you kid!!

My favorite memory of Ty was in middle school on the bus to a from school where we would also act dumb and have a great time. Ty always brought such a great energy everywhere he went and was a truly kind soul. Although I wasn't in touch with him for awhile after he moved away in high school I still consider him a great friend and will miss him dearly. Thank you for all the love and happiness you spread Ty, you will be missed. Rest easy friend.

I’m truly sorry for your loss. Ty was one of my closest friends, and I’ll always remember the way he lit up every room with his smile and sense of humor. One of my favorite memories with him was at Slammed Enuff Gatlinburg, we all parked our cars and rode down the strip in the bed of his truck, just laughing and enjoying life. Even when his car had issues the day before we left, we were all outside the parts store late, helping him fix it so we could make it home together.
