Janice Lynn Inman, age 57, of West Lafayette, IN, passed away unexpectedly at 1:17 pm on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the IU Hospital in Lafayette, IN.
Janice was born March 24, 1967 in Lafayette to Joan (Lyons) McMurtrie of Goodland, IN and John McMurtrie of Monticello, IN.
After graduating Benton Central High School, Janice attended Indiana State University and graduated with a degree in Social Work. During high school and college Janice worked as a bank teller at what is now known as Fifth-Third bank. After graduating college Janice began working at Tippecanoe County Division of Family Resources. She worked there for 29 years until her husband John passed away in 2017 and she decided to spend more time with friends and family. While employed at Family Resources Janice helped many individuals and families improve their lives.
Janice married John Inman on December 29, 1990 at the Methodist Church in Oxford, IN. He was the love of her life. John preceded Janice in death and passed away on September 28, 2017. Janice leaves behind her brother Bill McMurtrie of Lafayette, IN; her sister Susie (McMurtrie) Good (husband Kelly Good) of West Lafayette, IN; mother-in-law Pauline (Slavens) Anderson of Pine Village, IN, father-in-law William H. Inman of Wolcott, IN; brother-in-law Phillip Inman of Lafayette, IN; sisters-in-law Jennifer Williams (husband Steve) of Danville, IL and Katie Latta of Danville, IL; two nieces Oliva McMurtrie of Hebron, IN and Anna Good of West Lafayette, IN; nephew Josh McMurtrie of Lafayette, IN; great niece Violet Fazzini of Hebron, IN; and great nephew Hunter Davidson of Hebron, IN.
Janice loved spending time with her husband, and they enjoyed traveling, boating, attending racing events and many outdoor activities. Janice loved her dog “Tux.” She especially loved spending time with her entire family. Janice loved helping and taking care of people; she never met a stranger and she would help anyone.
Janice will be remembered for her kindness, big heart and the mark she has left on the lives of so many.
Visitation will be from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway W., West Lafayette, IN. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00pm at Soller-Baker West Lafayette, with Pastor Ryan VanMatre officiating. Burial services will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette. After the Burial Services the family is hosting a Celebration of Life at Walt’s Pub and Grill in West Lafayette, IN, and all are welcome.
