Janet L. Fader, 82, of West Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born February 24, 1938, in Dayton, OH, to the late Thomas and Marguerite (Gordon) Sanderson. .

After graduating from high school Janet married John F. Fader on July 7, 1956 in Dayton, OH. He preceded her in death on Auust 16, 2015.

Janet worked as a paralegal and was the executive secretary for Douglas Branigan at Stuart and Branigan LLP for over 30 years before retiring.

She attended First Baptist Church, a member of Tri-Kappa and was a master gardener. Janet enjoyed Gardening, knitting and was active in several Bridge clubs. Janet loved God, her family, friends and her country.

Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Fader and John Stephen “Steve” (wife Roseyre) Fader both of Lafayette, a sister, Carol (husband Jerry) McNabb of Dayton, OH, and a granddaughter, Christine Fader of Lafayette.

Janet was preceded in death by a grandson, John Stephen Fader II.

A celebration of Janet’s life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Natalies Second Chance Animal Shelter or the Lynn Treece Boys and Girls Club.

Jana and I are deeply sorrowed by your loss. I remember the many weekends our families spent together when I was a child.

My children and I wish to express our deepest condolences to Jan's family. I met Jan, and started to work with her on an estate matter, the first day that I began my employment at the Stuart Law Firm, forty five years ago. Over the years I often relied on Jan's support in legal/tax matters, and I always cherished Jan and John's friendship (John and I were Ambucs), and their ability to lift my spirits at the times the going was tough.
